Through our associations with and financial support of local organizations, Broad River Electric has a strong reputation for corporate citizenship and community leadership. Our commitment to community goes beyond donations. We support local students and education, participate in local events and festivals, and joint initiatives that help our neighbors nearby and far away.

Operation Round Up is an innovative program that has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for local organizations.

Each year, Broad River Electric hosts two community shred days for all area residents.

High school juniors in homes served by the cooperative have a chance to take a trip of a lifetime and win a $5,000 college scholarship.
What It Means to Be a Member
You're not a customer of Broad River Electric. You're a member, which means you have ownership and a voice in the cooperative that serves you. It's a unique business model that gives members democratic control and economic participation.

The first Saturday each May is a day of fun, fellowship prizes, and gifts for every attending member.

In 1940, Broad River Electric brought power and new way of life to rural communities throughout the Upstate.
