Broad River Electric Cooperative will make every effort to restore service in the event of an outage on the distribution system in the safest and efficient manner.
While priorities may change for some restoration efforts, the guidelines below have been established to return service to the greatest number of people in the shortest period of time.
- Level 1: Distribution substations – Thousands of members can be affected by an outage at a substation.
- Level 2: Distribution circuit – Problems along main distribution lines must be connected next, as they can supply hundreds with power.
- Level 3: Distribution taps – These supply lines, which often feed neighborhoods and subdivisions, are repaired next
- Level 4: Individual service connections – Lines to individual homes are the final priority. Damage on the line between your home and the transformer may explain why you have no power when your neighbor does.
