Dear Broad River EC member:
On behalf of the Broad River EC Board of Trustees and staff, thank you for your patience and perseverance over the past several months during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been an unprecedented time for everyone.
Through the State of Emergency and Stay-at-Home Order, our goal has been to keep our employees and members safe, and ensure you continue to receive the world-class service you expect from Broad River EC.
As South Carolina shifts to re-opening businesses, I am pleased to announce we are in the next phase of our COVID-19 Response Plan. While we made certain changes in our service processes, this week we resumed full operations. Here are some of the changes this stage entails:
- Staff will continue to follow CDC guidelines, and our Call Center will resume services at full capacity. Members may speak with our Member Care Representatives from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. Alternatively, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact us through the SmartHub app.
- Effective June 1, our lobbies will re-open with limited hours of 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. The Gaffney drive-thru continues to have regular hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We ask that members who choose to visit please observe our signage for proper social distancing. We also have a hand sanitizing station positioned at each lobby entry and exit.
- Disconnections and late fees were suspended on March 16th. Our standard operations will begin again on June 1st. This means members with outstanding balances may be subject to disconnection and late fees. To help our members, the Board has approved COVID-19 Payment Plans for individuals who have an outstanding balance on their account. Amounts due will not be forgiven; but spread over an extended period. If you are experiencing a hardship, please call our Member Care Representatives at 1-866-687-2667.
Again, I want to thank you for your patience during these challenging times. We encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and get updates and other information at our website, www.broadriverelectric.com.
Continue to stay safe and thank you for your continued trust in your co-op.
