Broad River Electric Cooperative is committed to the community, and with our Charities Board we have helped numerous non-profit and public service organizations within our service territory. One of our largest benefactors is education. But education in our area deserves more. We are committed to helping fund classroom education initiatives through our Bright Ideas Educator Grants.
Why an educator’s grant?
Many teachers have innovative ideas to make the classroom experience exceptional for students. Unfortunately, funding for these projects isn’t always readily available. Broad River Electric Cooperative and our Charities Board are here to help, partnering together to offer grants to teachers in school districts throughout our service territory.
Grant Limit and Award Criteria
Certified K-12 teachers within our service territory are eligible to apply for the Bright Ideas Grant Program. The maximum individual grant awarded can be up to $1,000.
If a grant is awarded to complete a project, the applicant must:
- Use the funding within 18 months.
- Submit a report about the outcome of the grant.
- Agree to allow their name, photo and grant information in publications to market the Bright Ideas Program.
Grants will be evaluated by volunteer educators in our service territory, and awarded the first week of school in the winners' respective counties.
The deadline to apply is July 31, 2023.
