Broad River Electric & Charity Board Announce New Grant Program

Broad River Electric Cooperative and it’s Charities Board are pleased to announce the formation of the Bright Ideas Educator Grants, which will be awarded in the fall of 2021 to educators in Cherokee, Spartanburg & Union counties. The grant program is specifically aimed to address the need of funding teachers who may have innovative ideas to enhance the classroom experience but lack the funds to make it happen. Bright Ideas Educator Grants will award ten winners checks in the amount of $1000.

The program is available to any certified K-12 teacher in Cherokee, Spartanburg and Union counties. Entrants will be judged by a panel of current and retired educators from each of the three counties. Applicants wishing to apply must agree to use the funds within 18 months and submit a report to Broad River Electric about the outcome of the program. If selected, winners must agree to allow their name, photo and grant information in publications in order to market the program. The maximum amount awarded is $1000.

Interested educators can apply at www.BroadRiverElectric.com/community/bright-ideas-educator-grants/.  Judging will begin shortly after application closing on July 30, 2021. Awards are slated to be handed out during the first weeks of school in each county.
