Many Broad River Electric Cooperative members look forward to the cooperative’s annual meeting each year in May, but this year we are facing concerns about the health effects of the new coronavirus, COVID-19.
The Annual Meeting typically draws 2,000 to 3,000 people, The CDC recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers cancel or postpone events that consist of 50 or more people throughout the United States. Also, in keeping with the provisions of Executive Order 2020-09, Section 4 of Governor McMaster’s declaration of a State of Emergency, which recommends the postponement and rescheduling of public gatherings of 100 people or more, the Annual Meeting of Broad River Electric Cooperative has been postponed beyond the scheduled date of May 2, 2020.
It is of paramount importance to the Board of Trustees and staff of Broad River Electric Cooperative that any gathering or meeting of the members be conducted in a healthy environment and safe manner.
Members will be notified of the date of the rescheduled annual meeting as future circumstances may permit. Meanwhile, we wish you good health and safety.
